Automatic TransmissionsTech Sheet: 700R4 "BadBoy" Lockup Control
|

|
|
Note:
This tech sheet applies to Wiring
for the High Impact "Bad Boy" 700 R4 The
wiring is set up so that several TC lockup options are available. Pin
connections: There
is a 3 pin electrical connector on the transmission (it has 4 marked
positions, however only three have active pins). Pin A is the OUTER connection, on the side of the connector toward the FRONT of the trans Pin B is the INNER connection, on the side of the connector toward the FRONT of the trans Pin C is the INNER connection, on the side of the connector toward the REAR of the trans Pin D is the OUTER connection, on the side of the connector toward the REAR of the trans
Option
One - TC Lock up always in 2-3-OD Pins
A and B are internally connected to the Torque converter lockup solenoid. Any time
power is connected to pin A and Pin B ins grounded, the TC will lock
up in 2nd, 3rd and OD (The valve body does not supply hydraulic pressure
to the TC lockup circuit, so it does not lock up in 1st gear whether the
TC solenoid is powered or not). Thus, in order to always have the lockup in 2,3
& OD, connect pin A to switched ignition power and pin B to ground Option
2 - TC lock up always in OD An internal pressure switch connected to a valve body rail that carries pressure when trans is in OD. Thus, this switch will close whenever the trans is in OD. This switch is wired from pin B to Ground internally in the transmission. Thus if (switched ignition) power is applied to pin A, whenever the trans is in OD, power will flow into pin A, through the TCC solenoid and to ground through he pressure switch. Option
3 (switchable between options 1 and 2) Connect
switched ignition power to Pin A. Also connect
pin B to a dash mounted (or wherever you want it) switch, connecting the
other side of this switch to ground. In this
method, the TC will always lock in OD, but will only lock in 2 or 3 when
the switch is manually on. There
are other possible wirings possible, but they are permutations of the
above data. Basic Internal wiring Data: Use
a pressure switch (Normally open, closes on high pressure) in a 4th
gear pressure port. 88-90 has an external port right behind the 2-4 servo
and fwd of the TV cable. Other years: Goes into valve body, inside the
pan. 700R4
electrical Harness connector: Use
3 pin electrical connector on the
transmission (it has 4 marked positions, however only three have active
pins).
