Clutch: Your stock clutch as used with the Getrag will fit in this application. It is however recommended to replace your clutch components unless they are known to be fresh. Clutch options listed below.

Replacement length of this package: In 4WD applications, this package will pretty much bolt in as a replacement for a Getrag, without driveline mods. Measured from the rear of the stock Getrag Engine adapter to the rear of the transmission tailhousing:

Clutch Options: Your stock Getrag Clutch will work in this system. It is recommended to replace it if it is not known to be fresh

It s important to size your clutch appropriately to engine power and load. Too light a clutch will fail. Too heavy will be unpleasant to drive. We can assist in selecting a clutch if desired.

Installation & Application Notes: 

NV4500 Replacing a  Getrag speed Transmission:

The package above forms a  system is designed to replace a Getrag 5 speed transmission with an NV4500 5 speed.  All of the major components needed are supplied for this conversion.

This system uses the factory engine/bellhousing plate. We supply a custom bellhousing that accepts the NV4500 trans and bolts up to your stock engine adapter (The factory bellhousing from the later engine with the NV4500 will not fit without replacement of the adapter housing as well).

This system also retains your factory clutch. The factory slave cylinder is used as well, simplifying and reducing the cost of this conversion 

4WD applications

Transmissions are supplied with either the Dodge 23 spline or 29 spline 4WD configuration, as required by your factory transfer case

Custom non-stock transfer case applications: Contact High Impact. 

2WD

The  NV4500 is supplied with a factory Dodge style slip yoke, and provisions for a choice of mechanical or electrical speedo, as needed for your application. 

Driveshaft(s)

You will need to have your driveshaft(s) modified for length. A local driveshaft shop is usually available to do this. If necessary, we can do it, however it is better to install the unit FIRST, then measure and build/modify driveshafts

Crossmember

You may need to relocate your crossmember, this can usually be done by re-drilling the frame and bolting into the desired location. You will need to drill the crossmember for the bolts to the larger NV4500 transmission mount
